Georgia Tarpon & Shark Season

Tarpon arrive along the Georgia coast with the summer heat, and during the peak months acres of rolling fish can be found around the Golden Isles. Georgia tarpon average 100-140 lbs and regularly top 190 lbs, making them one of the best-kept secrets in saltwater fishing. Tarpon are released boat-side, so bring a camera for that once-in-a-lifetime photo.

Sharks are on the Georgia coast from spring through fall, with big blacktips putting on an aerial show rivaled only by tarpon. Shark trips are a great option for families and groups who want nonstop, heavy-tackle action.
